In one of my other replies to this message thread I supplied some information about my London Hulls.Just to add a bit more...
I have a tree of Hulls living at Donhead St Mary in Wiltshire until Eli HULL married Susannah Lake Thomas and moved to Poplar in the London Docks.
Eli and Susannah had:
Henry b 14 Mar 1841
Susannah b 6 Aug 1842 d 7 Feb 1871
Mary b 2 Aug 1844 d 18 ec 1915
William b 5 Jan 1846
Jane b 29 May 1848
Joseph b 11 May 1850
George Eli b 14 Nov 1851
Thomas b 27 Dec 1855 d 3 Jan 1935
Ephraim b 17 Feb 1858 d 29 Jul 1875
Henry Hull was a Chief Engineer in the Royal Navy and shows up on the 1881 Census on board "Lord Warden" at Queensferry, Edinburgh. While what I think is his family is at Portsea in Hampshire - typical Naval housing.
Mary Hull married John Parker and these are my GGrandparents.
I don't know much about the other Hulls except that Thomas and others went to Salt Lake City as a Latter-day Saints.Consequently all this information is on the IGI courtesy of my great aunt, one of Mary and John's daughters.
Anyway there are some clues.Hulls living in Poplar in the 1850s - 1880s with nautical connections.
Regards,
John Parker
