Louisa was my ggg-grandmother, and I, too, have been looking for her ancestry.I'd heard that her father might have been named Arnold, but haven't found any confirmation. What I know:
She was born on 18 April 1815 (location unknown), and died on 9 May 1882 in Coles County, Illinois. She married Norman Hamblin on 28 Mar 1830 (location unknown), and they had six children:
Jacob:9 Feb 1832 -
Elizabeth (Betsey):18 Nov 1832 - 25 Aug 1895
Diantha:9 Feb 1836 - 23 Dec 1905
Norman:11 Dec 1837 - 18 May 1878
Roxania:6 Aug 1840 - 7 Aug 1922
Elijah:29 Mar 1842 -
Of these, Diantha, Norman, and Elijah moved to Illinois with (or about the same time as) Norman and Louisa.Elijah farmed in Coles County near his father, Norman farmed and was a contractor for railroad construction, moving first to Douglas County and then to Moultrie.Diantha married Hamilton Short, and moved to Cumberland County.I know nothing of the histories of the other children.
I have photos of Norman and Louisa's graves and, thanks to Debra Jean Sudlow Miller, of their faces as well. For the portraits, se:
