J.F. Hull, 1892
Maryville Times, (Blount Co. TN) Wednesday, March 16, 1892:
"A week ago Sunday, a man came to town bringing with him a corpse. He told two or three different stories about it and aroused the suspicions of some of the people. The corpse was taken up last Monday. Drs. Love and Brickell examined the head and breast but found nothing but a slight bruise on the back of the head, that would indicate foul play. They secured a number of old newspapers, letters, bills, etc., only one of which had the name J.F. Hull printed on it. This was the name given by the man who brought the deceased here. The man claimed to come from Colorado and that his son had died of consumption in that state as a small mining town, two days journey from the railroad. Letters were sent to some of the addresses given on the papers and to the Chief of Police of Syracuse, Kansas, where the coffin or rather the goods box in which the man was buried, came from."
