W. David Wedderburn

Hello!

I have been searching for a few years on W. David Wedderburn who was born in Scotland around 1680. He came to the King and Queen County area of Virginia in the 1720s. It is hard to find much info on him, because his link to the Baronetage is quite cloudy. He is suggested to be a son of Peter of Wedderburn born 23 Sep. 1652 who was married to Catherine Mann. There was a story that Peter was married a second time and had W. David and John by another wife.

W. David married Caty Thomas, they had a son, Alexander born in 1738 K&Q Va. who married Lydia Strachey. Alexander and Lydia's daughter Mary Strachey Wedderburn married into my Morgan family line.

Can anyone help me figure if there is a link between George Hume, and this W. David Wedderburn? The above Peter Wedderburn had a brother, George who's son Alexander left Scotland on an errand, but never went back after finding that charges had been brought against him at home. Is there a possible link? This W. David lived very close with the Hume family. The Spotsylvania area.

Thank you!
