James Hume and Marjory Johnson 1682

Hello everyone,
I am descended from Barbara Hume and William Hogue. My line is
Barbara Hume-William Hogue
Margaret Hogue - Dr Robert White
Barbara White- Isaac Julian
Renee Julian - Catherine Allred Madden
Isaac Julian - Nancy Wood
Sara Julian - William P Smith
Sophrona Smith - James Riley Hutchins
William Thomas Hutchins - Louisa Jane Hays
Cordie Ella Hutchins - Everett Fisher
Norma Fisher- Albert Richard Gunsallus
Here is my problem- I can not find any information on Barbara Hume Hogues father, James Hume. Most of the trees you find do not match up with the written history of this family. All of the sources I have checked do not list George Hume/ Catherine Morrison as having a child named James. It seems some of the trees have confused George Hume who left Scotland in the 1700's and were the Earls of Wedderburn with our James. I can not find my James connected to the Wedderburn clan. Some trees list Marjory Johnson as being Marjory Lambert but I believe Marjory Lambert is on the Hogue side of the tree. So many tree have just been copies with out any documentation and sometimes they have James and Marjory dying in Canada. I am putting together a book for my sons and I would like to be as accurate as I can make it. If anyone has any information on the parents of James Hume who died with his wife Marjory aboard ship to America, please contact me. My e-mail address is And I will check this site daily.
Thank you so much.
Mrs. Kurt Neely
