We just found information on the internet . We started with Aaron Humes Emmett's grandfather. It was geneal knowledge that the family was Scotch-Irish.
I have been lax about calling the rest of the family, but someone has made updates to the web site .

She was a special education teacher with several degrees and reportedly did family research ( records are lost) and corresponded with Susan Humes, a poet, of Osh Kosh WI about family history. She attended Whitworth Brookhaven College and Millsaps in Jackson and Old Ms. Their son is Al STroud who moved to Dallas Texas and worked for the IRS. Al's son is Aaron Humes also of Dallas.

I will try to get the years form Marjorie. Spellings are phonetic.
Thanks, Cindy Johnson ( Tim's wife)
Ps. We stayed at Wedderburn Castle in the keepers cottage last summer and met Georgina Humes Robertson. She looks a lot like Tim's father Emmett which was almost unsettling. We still would like to know about Robert Humes from Fermanagh Ireland. Who was said to immigrate to Mendon, MA
