I am working on Thomas Humes and his mother Margrett Russell Humes. The past president of the University of Tennessee Thomas circa 1860. He was listed in the book "Prominent Tennesseans". I believe his mother to be related to the Russells of Monroe and McMinn Cos TN they came out of Ireland to VA then to GA (Washington/Wilkes Co) then to SC and on to Jefferson Co Tn around 1800. I am trying to find Margret's siblings especailly a one "William Russell" ( my 5th g-grand father), son of John Russell and son Rev.Thomas J Russell of McMinn Co TN. Any one with the smoking gun please let me know. AT some point all lived in the Dandridge TN area from 1800 until late 1800's.Thanks in advance,Dr Jim Hutson jhh
