Hi, Craig,

Good to see a posting from the Nicholas Humes' line! Yes, Charles' & Marlyn's Volume I & II, "Descendants of Nicholas Humes of Massachusetts" are the definitive books on our lineage. My feeble efforts to trace us back to Ireland or Scotland have been futile and no DNA matches except for our male relatives here in the U.S. There is another book titled "Early American history: Hume and allied families," by William Everett Brockman (1926) that reportedly has information about the parents of Nicholas. I do not see this book in Charles' end notes, so do not know if he was aware of it. I cannot find it locally. The closest copy appears to be in Springfield, Illinois - I reside in Seattle. Again, thanks for posting.
Sincerely,
Tim Humes
