Hunewills? Maine 1860's
Hello,
Has anyone come across the following book?
"The Saga of the Circle H: Commemorating the first hundred years of the Hunewills, 1861-1961"
I ran across this title at www.abebooks.com, a good source for used books, and one of the entries for this book has the following blurb;
"the Hunewills in America wereFrench Huguenots from Alsace-Lorraine who settled on the coast of Maine; Hunniwell's Point and H.'s Beach were named for them; Napoleon H. were to California during the gold rushand married Esther Ann after returning to Maine; the Circle H was a ranch in California"
similar info is posted at the ranch's website http://guestranches.com/hunewill/activities.htmhttp://guestranches.com/hunewill/activities.htm
anyway, I thought the info was doubtful, and I hoped that maybe one of you had run across this.
thanks, Amelia James (descended from Zerubabbel Hunnewell and Hannah Haskell of Maine)
