Hey all,
Looking for information on James Hunt, born about 1829 in NC to Lydia Mendenhall, born about 1802/07. My GGG grandmother was Effie Jane Hunt, born abt: 1830. I have Lydia's line ok (they seem to move between NC and Indiana), but her husband "James" is a mystery. The dates seem far apart (him being born 1829 and her being 1802/7), but who knows what happend back then; could be a another husband or she liked older men, or the other way around.
Anyway, I'm looking for information on James Hunt and possibly his line going back. Some say his father was Thomas, but can't confirm that, some say he was native american as they (James and Lydia) were put down as Mulatto on the census, and their daughter Effy Jane Hunt who married John L. Jones, the same on a different census. Any help would be appreciated.
