William Hunter and Benjamin Franklin
The relationship between William Hunter and Benjamin Franklin in helping to establish the US Postal system is well documented.
However, I am interested in learning more about William Hunter's son, also named William, who studied at Benjamin Franklin's College and Academy of Philadelphia (today's University of Pennsylvania).
William Hunter was a student at the College and Academy of Philadelphia from March of 1764 to 1766.Benjamin Franklin is listed as responsible for his tuition money.
I have found information that the younger William Hunter published a newspaper in Williamsburg and then joined and fought with the British Army during the Revolutionary War.
Does anyone have any further information on William Hunter? What battles did he fight in?Are there any letters that exist describing his time in Philadelphia?
My email is [email protected]
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
