My name is Lynne A Wilson (my grandfather was Richard Thomas Hunter). I was told that Hunter's point was named after his family. I never knew his father because he was shot in an accidental death situation on the wharf during the first world war or second world war. He was on the wharf and a guard told him to stop. He either ignored the command or did not hear it and was shot and killed. I am in the process of trying to get my grandfater's birth certificate from Tiburon CA were he was born. I hope that we find we are related because just in your message I know more about my family history than I did 5 minutes ago.
My grandfather had a wonderful tenor voice and was known as the "Caruso of the Ferry's". During an accident on the Ferry boat on which he worked -- he began singing "AVA MARIA" and calmed the crowd which saved many lives. He was a deckhand on the Ferry's until the bridges were built and then worked up to second mate on the tug boats with Santa Fe Railroad. Talk more I hope. Lynne
