Just when I was beginning to doubt her Cherokee origins, I found a 1900 Census of Indian Territory in Arkansas where she is listed as being 1/8 Cherokee, meaning she had a great great grandparent on either side who was 100% Cherokee. The link to the census is here:

She is number 20 on the list, along with her husband John Tillery, who was my great great grandfather and amazingly enough he is listed as 1/8 Cherokee as well.
