I really think there's a very good chance that the William Oliver HUNTER I mentioned in my first response to you is your grandfather. Something must have happened to his first wife, Cora, and your Dad was raised by her family while William remained in OK and remarried.

I'm finding limited records available online for OK, so it might be time to write to the dept of health there, and see what records they have available. A birth record for William, his marriage record to Cora and Cora's death certificate could shed some light on the situation.
