Winnie,
Thanks for this timeline that you have found for this George Hunter. I'll look over it in a few minutes to see if there appears to be any information that would connect to my Samuel James Hunter's timeline.
From the results of the DNA test that I took last summer, I know that Samuel James Hunter's ancestors were from Scotland, and that he was a merchant in Charleston, SC. I recently looked at the book " Directory of Scots in the Carolinas, 1680-1830" by David Dobson.
The book states that George Hunter was from Ayrshire, Scotland, and that he was a landowner & planter in Charleston, where he died in 1755. I thought that since my Samuel James Hunter was born abt. 1745 and was in Charleston, that this George Hunter might be his father or greatfather. It is to bad that the book does not give any dates for George, other than his death date.
Have you ever seen a mention of a wife or children of George Hunter ??
Thanks SO much for any information.
