Mary,
Thanks for your answer to my posting. I cannot understand where all of those people online got their incorrect information about his birth.
Just to try and find out the truth about this, last week I received the actual birth documents to verify this. I received the birth records of the 8 children of James Hunter & Isabella Currie from Dunse, Berwickshire. So, I have them if you happen to need a copy.
By the way, do you happen to know if any of this family came to America, and anything about them ??? I'm trying to find the ancestors of a Samuel Hunter who turned up in South Carolina and then lived in Georgia.
