The professional researchers concluded that William HUNTER, the weaver & immigrant, had no connection to the William HUNTER in Massachusetts who married Rebecca BESSE.
The researchers found the possibility that William HUNTER came from Alnwick, Northumberland, England, a promising lead. I'm still not quite seeing the pieces come together yet. If he was the William who married Elizabeth CAHOUN (or COHON(E)) in 1677, then who was the William HUNTER in the document cited in which George GILL gets a land patent for transporting about 60 people including Wm. HUNTER & Jno. COHON in 1674, which means that there were at least two different William HUNTERs in the colony at the same time?
