Edwin, Hattie D., Bessie and T.D. Hurlbert were on the 1880 census in Cheyenne Co., WY, 156. When and where did Edwin D.? Whom did he m., when and where? Appreciate information about them and their descendants.

A Hiram Hurlbuit was on the 1830 census in Fabius, Onondaga Co., NY. While there were some Hurlburts (variant spellings) in Indiana and Ohio by 1830, I did not find any in Wayne Co., IN. (There were many in NY and CT, some in NH and MA.)

Jacob N. Booker, b. 20 March 1785, Winchester, Frederick Co., VA, d. 12 Feb 1825, Centerville, Wayne Co.,IN; m. 3 Jan 1809, Madison Co., VA, Sallie Broaddus, b. c1785, Caroline or Orange Co., VA, d. 9 Feb 1852, Centerville, daughter of James Broaddus, b. c1731, King and Queen Co., VA, d. after 1786, and Sarah Gaines, b. c1744, Caroline Co., VA, daughter of James Gaines and Mary Pendleton. On 4 Jan 1786 James Broaddus of Orange sold his share of land willed him and his brothers William and Shipley by their father Edward Broaddus. (Orange Co., VA DB 18, 456; 19, 139)
Edward Broaddus, b. c1680, Wales, emigrated c1700; settled on Gwynn's Island, Mathews Co., VA; m. c1725, VA, Mary Shipley. (Andrew Broaddus, The Broaddus Family, 1888, viii)

Jacob was the 7th of 14 children of Jacob Bucher/Bechar/Boohar/Booker/Bouchar/Bougher/Buger/Bugher/Buher/Poker, b. 29 Apr 1739, Opequon, Frederick Co., VA: d. 12 Sep 1799, Winchester, Frederick, a carpenter, Frederick County Constable in 1766 and during the Revolutionary War, a private, 7th and 13th Virginia Regiments. He m. (bond) 20 Apr 1773, Frederick, Mary Ann Wetzel, b. 4 Apr 1754, d. 8 Jan 1834, Centerville, Wayne Co., IN; m. 2 (bond) 4 Feb 1804, Frederick, Jacob Charles Aulick, b. by 1760, d. by 7 May 1812, Frederick, a widower with children and a Hessian soldier who stayed on in Virginia after the war. Mary Ann dropped the name Aulick after his death. A portrait of her during her second marriage is in Richmond. According to family legend Jacob Bucher/Booker's mother-in-law was a Cooper who m. a Witsill. Leonard Cooper's 5 May-Aug 1766 will in Frederick Co., VA mentioned, among others, a daughter Catrin Witsell. Christopher Wetzel, who appears in Frederick records, supposedly m. Catherine; I have found no proof of that.
