Elisabeth,
Dr. Eward Hand had 5 daughters. Virginia born 1844, Emma born 1848, Ella born 1852, Catherine (or Katherine) born 1856, and Annie born 1858. Catherine and Annie were born in Marysville California. Dr. Edward Hand was the 1st doctor in Marysville, Ca.
Emma married Christian Heider in Tehama. They operated the Heider House which was a successfull hotel. I'll send you more info on the Husons of Canada and Washington state.
