I purchased the subject undated snapshot of two men dressed in U.S. Army uniforms. It is identified on the back of the print:

"This is two friends of mine
The dark haired fellow is
Elton P. Hudson from La.
The other is Lavern Guttu,
from Wash"

Both men appear in "U.S. World War II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946." Hudson enlisted on 13 Oct 1944 in Shreveport, LA, and Guttu enlisted on 18 Sep 1944 in Portland, OR.

Alton P. K. Hudson, born 1919 in LA, was the son of a farmer, Daniel Whitiker Hudson, born 16 Feb 1898 in LA, and Mary (maiden name unknown), born about 1899 in LA. The family is listed in the 1920 Census data for Bossier Co., LA; and the 1930 Census data for Plain Dealing (resided on Palmetto Street), Bossier Co., LA.

Lavern Kenneth Guttu, born 17 Jun 1924 in Bottineau, ND, died 16 Aug 2003 in Vancouver, WA, was the son of a farm laborer, Olaf F. Guttu, born 1886 in Lowry, MN, died 27 Mar 1962 in Camas, WA; and Serina Berge, born about 1888 in MN, died 23 Jun 1944 in Vancouver, WA. The family is listed in the 1930 Census data for Omemee, Bottineau Co., ND. He appears in a Public Member Tree posted on ancestry.com.
