In the off chance that your E-mail isn't working, I'll post my response here as well.
From what you've said in the Husted genealogy.com forum, it looks like we're related! I don't have you in the family tree that I have, though. Write me and I can send you a text file of the genealogy I have from Stephen Husted (1776-1834) down through his son Hiram. Also I've a GED file if you have software such as Family Tree Maker.
As for Hiram Husted's gravesite, I've been unable to ascertain exactly where it is. I've heard stories similar to yours, too. My great-aunt Sadie Husted had told me the story regarding the horses and the headstones. My father and mother said they had remembered passing by Aaron's father's headstone on the way to Aaron's grave. Here's what I have, though:
I've obtained a copy of the plat map for the Greenwood Cemetery where Hiram, his wife Clarissa, Aaron, and his wives Grace (my g-grandmother) and Ella are buried. The pertinent section is:

(It's a large file so watch out!)
In the upper right corner (the northwest part of the cemetery) are two lots: the third one down, T. Husted is Thomas Husted's (1807-1891), Hiram's older brother. On the farthest north part of the lot is Hiram's wife Clarissa Husted's (1829 - 1884) grave. A bad snapshot of her headstone:

Further back is a double lot labeled 'Hiram Husted.' That is where, I assume, Hiram is buried as well as Aaron, Grace, and Ella. The latter have headstones, but Hiram doesn't. Some of the story regarding that plot can be found in Aaron's deposition here:
http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/aarondep-pg01.jpghttp://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/aarondep-pg01.jpg
http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/aarondep-pg02.jpghttp://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/aarondep-pg02.jpg
http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/aarondep-pg03.jpghttp://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/aarondep-pg03.jpg
So after Hiram committed suicide,* Aaron bought the double lot and Hiram was buried there. Note that there's no mention of a headstone in his costs! And in the 1930's when the DAR did headstone transcriptions, there's no mention of Hiram's headstone:
http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/Wood_Cemetery.txthttp://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/Wood_Cemetery.txt
so I don't know if/when Hiram did have a headstone! I suspect we can come close to figuring out where Hiram is on the 16' X 16' plot from the layout of the graves with headstones:
http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/gravelayout.jpghttp://liberalarts.iupui.edu/~whusted/genealogy/gravelayout.jpg
We know Grace died at the young age of twenty-six in 1904. Aaron, I suppose, would have buried her such that he could be buried next to her.
But he then married Ella, (Luella, actually) who predeceased him in 1939. So he would have buried her such that he could be buried next to her. So we're left with five places for Hiram's grave: Next to Grace and in front of Ella, or next to Grace on the other side or one more down from Grace. Or next to Aaron or one down from Aaron (at least in how I saw where they were in the 16' x 16' plot). What are your thoughts?
I've more info so please feel free ask!
Cheers,
Wayne Husted
