Hi. I am a Rhodes and my g-g-g-grandfather was James Hardy Rhodes, his sister Mary Ann Rhodes was born around 1819/20 in Kentucky or North Carolina (conflicting reports--but most like N.C.) her parents John and Martha Rhodes reportedly came from North Carolina. Mary Ann married Harrison William Hutchcraft on June 10, 1835 (so you can see that she was only 15 or 16 years old. They had the following children: Harrison William, William, Hardy, Alexander, Mary Ann, Nancy, Georgia Ann and Emanuel. Mary Ann was noted as a midwife. She may have died in the early to mid 1890s in Franklin County, Illinois. I would love to find an obit about her but have not to date. I hope this has been helpful to you.
