Melody,
Amy Godfrey Hutchings was a d/o John Godfrey and Mary Nichols.
Amy's sister Anne married Capt. Nathaniel Tatem, another ships captain.
Amy's brother William Godfrey married Elizabeth Tatem.
Capt. Nathaniel Tatem and Elizabeth Tatem Godfrey were brother and sister, children of Capt. Nathaniel Tatem and Elizabeth Turner.
John Godfrey married to Mary Nichols was a brother of Mathew Godfrey with the large will who married Isabella Butgess late in life and had no children.
John and Mathew Godfrey were sons of John Godfrey and Sarah Dadford.
John and Sarah Godfrey had a daughter Sarah who married Peter Malbone and Reodolphus Malborn was their son.
This John Godfrey in Norfolk Co, VA in the early 1600s, was a ships builder and church builder.
All these Norfolk Co, VA families are interrelated and you can't research one without researching all of them.
Because of computer searching you have to select one spelling and put the verations in your notes.
Later in the 1700s, some of these Norfolk families moved to new england to grow cotton and took slaves with them.
Hope this helps,
Don
