Although I don't see the connection (yet) between your Hutters and mine, I noticed your posting and it reminded me of the name Groff which I found was later "Americanized" to Grove in the early 1700s in the Pennsylvania area.

My Hutter line starts with Johann Ludwig Hutter born in Frishborn on the Vogelsburg (Germany) in 1726 and then to his son, Christian Jacob Hutter (also b. in Germany), Christian Jacob Hutter came to America before 1791 and married Maria Magdalena Huber of PA.

Anything sound familiar? The Hutter line I mention can be found at www.livelyroots.com.

Susan
