Robert Hutten & Luish Hutten, 1793 Land Transaction, Gilford, NC
Anyone on the list have a Robert Hutten who lived in Guilford County, NC sometime around 1793? I have found a deed issued from the County Court to Robert Galbreath pertaining to the Estate of Robert Huttan (Hultan) deceased. The deed also mentions "the old line" to Luish Hutten's land.
For more years than I care to think about, I have been researching and searching for Louis Hotton/Hutton/Hutten/Holton. Louis went to Guilford County and purchased land in 1774. He made a will in 1800 and at that time sold a portion of his property. He died in 1805 and mentioned Lewis Rannold, Dinah Hotton, John Coe Sr., Daughters: Dolly Cesseny, Nancy Rannold, Rachel Bartley. Also named is granddaughter Hannah Holton/Hotton Coe. Lewis signed his name as Lewis Hotton. The signature is definitely not of the same handwriting as the will which strongly indicates to me that Lewis signed his own will. Also, his name on his land purchase in 1774 is in the name of Lewis Hotton.
I know there were many Hutton/Hutten's in Guilford County and am stymied as to who Robert is and also is he a Hulton or Hutton?
If anyone can help me decipher the Hutten/Hutton/Hotton/Hulton issue I would be most grateful. I am willing to share what I have found.
Best Regards,
Yvonne Strong
