Hello to anyone who's interested in researching the Huxmann (Huxman) family tree(s) in the Americas and in Europe! There appear to be 2 branches of the family in the United States: one in the midwestern states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois, the other further west in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado.
The midwestern branch originated the town of Gehrden in northern Germany. No point of origin has yet been found for the our relatives in the western states. There are still many(!!) Huxmanns in northern and western Germany. Some are teachers, some coaches, engineers, business people. We've contacted a few by phone and e-mail, but none (so far) in person.
If you have info regarding the family, please contact me directly at shuxmann@facstaff.wisc.edu, or leave a message at this site. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!!
       Cordially,
       Steven Huxmann
