Hi, I'm looking for information on the Young family in Udell and unionville,Appanoose,Iowa. Silas and Lucy BURGETT Young moved to Iowa about 1843 with two children Emily and James Peter Young all were from KY. They had seven more children in Iowa,Jeremiah ''Jere'',Amanda,Margaret,Mary I,Laura,Lucretia and Hamilton P Young.
James peter moved to Nebraska by 1860 and to Butte ,Montana by 1870.
Hamilton P. moved to Kansas by 1880 and on to Los Angeles,CA by 1920.
Jeremiah H. moved to Putnam,Indiana with wife Malinda SANDERS Young and their daughter Clemmie in a covered wagon between 1871 & 1873. They had a second daughter there in abt. November 1873, Sarah Effie.
I don't have any info on the sisters of Jere. Looking for info on their marriages etc. Also looking for the cemetery where silas and Lucy are buried. Silas died 05 Jan 1864 Appanoose and Lucy died 14 Apr 1904 Unionville. They owned 225 acres in Washington Twp. in 1856 may have a family cemetery there or may be in another cemetery. On 1860 census it shows them in Unionville,Udell Twp. as a farmer with value 3,000 that may be in town ? or another farm ? .
I don't know if Lucy remarried as she was 50 when Silas died.
I also have several reunion pictures from my great great aunt Estie Keck, the daughter of Hiram & Clemmie YOUNG Keck. They visited Iowa often.
