Renovating Old House in Belle Plaine, Iowa

Recently my husband and I purchased a house at 608 5th Avenue, Belle Plaine, Iowa. The house consists of two buildings: The first being an old country school house that was brought in from the Southeast part of town. This was confirmed by a 1950s resident of the house. The second is much older in that there are layers of wall paper under the lathe and plaster (4 layers)over ship lap boards. We are renovating this house for our retirement home and are currently living in Black Hawk County. I would very much like to know more about our house as we have found a few artifacts that look like they date back to the 1800s. It would be nice to find decendents of the families who have lived in the house. If you have any information, please contact me at knokeb2@mchsi.com
Thank you!
Bernice
