My husband and I are renovating a house in Guinnville (Belle Plaine). It belonged to Melvin J. Guinn, J.H. Guinn and his wife W.S. Guinn in 1896 according to the abstract. There was a Town Plat at that time, but I know that Guinnville existed long before that. The house that we are renovating is a combination of a very old part (1850s) and a country school house that evidently was brought in. I would appreciate anything that you might know about the family and the area at that time.
