Thank you for your reply. This is info I did not have. I appreciate it! The land for this cemetery was granted by my G-G-Grandparents, Thomas Parker Johnson & Hannah ELSON Johnson Williams, on part of their farm.

It's interesting that neither of them were buried there when they died (he died while fighting in the Civil War and is presumed buried at the site of that (unknown) battle; she died while living with one of her daughters and sons-in-law, Maude JOHNSON & T. Jeff Shropshire in Denison, IA and is buried in one of the cemeteries south of Denison.)

I have been told that a Shellsburg lady, Mrs. Dyson, presumed to be deceased, possessed a list of all of the burials in Greenwood-Johnson Cemetery. It’s believed her children or nieces/nephews still live in the vicinity of Shellsburg and would be approximately 60 years of age. It is my hope that they inherited Mrs. Dyson's list, have kept it safe, and that one day I might find out who they are and be able to contact them to inquire of the list. Another possibility is that maybe Mrs. Dyson was a member of the Shellsburg Presbyterian Church and gave the list of burials to a church historian. (I talked to the minister of Oak Grove. He knew nothing about the list.) Thanks again for your help!
