Oliver F Willes is my third great uncle. He was born on Nov 10, 1839 in St.Lawrence County New York. He married Nancy P Clark on Feb 18, 1864 in New York.
He came to Benton County Iowa in the 1850's where he farmed, was a teamster, and a gardener, according to the census.
They had four children:
Estella
Wilbur
Bertha
Hattie
I am having a hard time finding a death date for Oliver. I have Nancy's death certificate, and it says Nancy is buried in Vinton, Benton Co,Iowa; having passed away in Illinois. Nancy was living with her daughter Estella in Illinois. I tried researching in Illinois to see if Oliver passed away there, but to no avail.
I would love to find out when Oliver passed away, if he passed away in Benton County Iowa, and where he and his wife Nancy are buried.
