The Chariton Patriot Chariton, Iowa 1875 (I neglected to put the date on the copy. duh..) Liberty. -- S.D. WHEELER has moved from this to Whitebreast township having disposed of his old farm to two of his sons GEORGE and MASON. He resides on the south part of what is known as the "old Knolen Farm". MASON WHEELER has sold his farm to HENRY W. LANE. Old MR. SYDEBOTTOM is dangerously sick as also is the wife of JNO. W. VANTER The latter has rheumatism. MR. W.M. HORNER has left for Kansas with his family. STEPHEN HULBURT and HIRAM KNAPP skedaddled recently without informing their creditors where they were bound for. JACKSON LOWLY and OLIVER CLOUSE had a little unpleasantness a few weeks ago the result being that the latter will have to imputate (sic) one of his hands. JACK has good teeth and used them freely on the said occasion. DRS. FITCH and STANTON amputated a finger close to the hand for the wife of JNO. N. LANE on Sunday last. A felon was the cause. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert December 6, 2006 iggy29@sbcglobal.net http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm 1880 census Whitebreast Township, Lucas County, Iowa Samuel D.
