Chariton, Iowa
February 7, 1877

LANDERS -- Of paralysis of the brain on Jan 30th, 1877, in Montgomery County
Iowa, at the residence of her son, Luther, MRS. EVE LANDERS, aged 75 years.

MRS. LANDERS and family were among the earliest settlers of our township and
county, removed from Ohio here in 1851. Last December she went to spend the
winter with Luther, where she died. Her remains were brought here for burial, and on Friday, Feb. 2d, were followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends and neighbors and deposited by the side of her husband who died in 1864. She leaves four sons, three of whom were present at her death bed and funeral. Of her it might have been said. "She looketh well to the ways of her Savior. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her."

COM. Ola, Lucas County, Iowa.
