Seeking info about John and Hannah Minthorn, aunt and uncle of President Herbert Hoover. There is a historical site located in Newberg, Oregon called the Hoover Minthorn House. The Minthorn's were quakers from Iowa or Pennsylvania. Mr. Minthorn was a doctor and school superintendent. President Hoover's mother was Hulda Randall Minthorn, born in 1848 and his father was Jesse Clark Hoover, born in 1846. The Minthorn Family that I come from are from Pendleton, Oregon. Did the Minthorn family adopt any Umatilla tribal members?
