Cullen-thank you for your reply. You have the right family. Alex. was born in 1796(Scotland) and died in a carpenter accident in 1845 in Dubuque. Elizabeth was born around 1804 in the East Indies. They came to the U.S. in around 1826 to Philadelphia(after marriage in Edinburgh) and migrated to Iowa in 1838. Children were Marian, James, Elizabeth, Ann, William and Charles.Margaret was the youngest child. They were Presbyterians. I am just trying to trace back as much as possible and maybe there is an Alexander who can help.
