I have been trying to find any information about my maternal great grandmother, Carrie Carman.
According to 1870 census, she was living in Mt. Ayr township. She was 4 or 5 years old and was living with a John and Elizabeth Carman. John is shown as 54 and Elizabeth as 66 so I am presuming they were here grandparents. Between 1870 and 1880 she left Iowa and was raised in Cherryvale, Kansas by her "aunt" (according to census)Jane Handley (Carman). I have not been able to find in family records any definitive information about Carrie's parents. I searched the Ringgold County cemetary website and found no Carman's listed.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
