Independent Patriot Lamoni, Iowa August 17, 1899 Purely Personals. THURSDAY. Mrs. Sarah CROW returned from her visit at Pleasanton, Iowa. J. R. SMITH and wife, and E. B. TEALE and wife, returned from Davis City, Iowa. Noah RIGGS and daughter Jennie came in from Indianola, Iowa; she to go on to Mt. Ayr, where she will teach in the public schools; and he to remain here for a few days visit. Samuel SPARKS went to Davis City. Mrs. Riley DILLON came in from St. Joseph. FRIDAY. Mrs. Nellie RIGGINS came in from Chariton, Iowa. C. A. BRACKENBURY and little son Wallace, went to Independence, Missouri, where a family reunion was expected to take place. N. RIGGS went to Centerville, Iowa. A. W. TURNER, a brother-in-law of Hemen C. SMITH passed through on his way to Mt. Ayr; his home is in Tabor, Iowa, and his occupation cattle buying. C. H. BARROWS returned from St. Louis, Missouri. SATURDAY. Mrs. E. B. GAYLORD and daughter Roxanna returned from Shenandoah. Mrs. S. R. BURGESS, her mother and son, returned from their visit at Pleasanton. B. D. FLEET and son Bennie went to Chariton. John ALLEN and wife came in from Helena, Missouri. Mrs. James LAMLEY came in from Ridgeway, Missouri. Vaughn BAILEY returned from Independence, Missouri. I. P. BAGGERLY returned from his missionary work in Texas. C. W. REED returned from Bethany. MONDAY. Mrs. S. R. BURGESS, of St. Louis, returned to her home. F. CRILEY returned from his eastern trip. Grace LLOYD started for Watertown, Illinois, called by a telegram announcing the severe illness of her sister, Edith. Joseph MATHER returned to Mt. Ayr, having come down Saturday. C. W. REED went to Mt. Ayr. Professor Geo. N. BRIGGS went to Mt. Ayr, to attend the county institute in the interest of Graceland College. C. A. BRACKENBURY returned from his visit to Independence. TUESDAY. A. S. COCHRAN and wife returned to Leon. Mrs. E. A. STEDMAN went to Leon to visit her daughter, Mrs. CUMMINS. Mrs. F. E. COCHRAN and children and Wilber GAULTER went to Leon. Henry DANIELSON returned from a lengthy visit at Sheridan, Illinois. J. M. GORSUCH and Wm. ALLEN returned from Chicago. Jacob MADER went to Red Cloud, Nebraska, where he has a brother. D. F. LAMBERT and J. F. ANDERSON went to Des Moines to hear Bryan and attend the State Democratic convention.
