For the 1880 census, I would try a library that has census rolls and a genealogy department. However, you want to get the 1880 soundex. You want to look for I-252 and I-520. These are the Soundex codes of the surname of Imes, Iams, Iiames, Iiams and Ijams or Ijames. I have made a copy of your inquiry and the next time I get to a library that has the Soundex census, I will look it up also. If Sarah Iams Ayle died in Ohio, did you look at her death notice. It should show the mother and father's name on it. If you find that, check back with me as I have over 32,000 names in my files. I thought that I was really doing great but every week, another name jumps up. I should have started researching years ago. Roberta Iiames
