Rina Iannone

GREEN ISLAND - Rina Iannone, 83, affectionately known to all as "Grandma," died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born in St. Elena, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Carmela Cellarula Lembo.
She came to the United States in 1953 and settled in Green Island, where she has resided ever since.
Mrs. Iannone was employed in the garment manufacturing industry and worked in Troy for Weinberg's, Marshall Ray and Standard Manufacturing, from where she retired in 1982.
She was a proud member of the Green Island Senior Citizens, with whom she enjoyed taking trips, playing bocci, shuffleboard and league bowling.
She was a member of the Amalgamated Garment & Textile Workers Union and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Green Island.
Beloved wife of the late Julius Iannone Sr.; loving mother of William N. Iannone and his wife Amelia of Latham; stepmother of Yolanda Lattanzio and her husband Corrado of Clifton Park and the late Julius Iannone Jr.; grandmother of Nicholas and Rina Iannone, Virginia Scala and husband John, Michael, Edward and Julie Iannone and the late Donna Ritchie, whose husband Leonard survives; great-grandmother of Christopher Iannone, Jennifer Ritchie, Erica Comerford and husband Sean and John Paul Scala; dear sister of Rose Verdile of East Greenbush, Angelina Terriaca of Rome, Italy, and the late Maria Terriaca and Michele Lembo; also several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral from the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Ave., Green Island, on Tuesday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Green Island.
Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
