Hello Stephen:
My grandmother had a sister Lizzie Fendick born around 1875 in Thornaby-on-Tees (next to Stockton-on-Tees) who married a Fred I'Anson (dates unknown).
He may be related to your Stockton-on-Tees I'Ansons ?
They moved to Heighington near Darlington around 1912, and there they ran the village general store. They had 4 children Bert (= Robert), Marjorie, Dora and Wilfred. We used to visit Dora, Marjorie and Wilfred in Heighington in the 50's while I was a boy.
