Hello,
I also have an I'Anson family line the comes from Stockton on Tees.
My great grandmother is Ethel Mary Elizabeth I'Anson born 14 Jan 1881- abt 1965.She married Thomas Henry Hollifield in Stockton on Tees in 1900.Ethel had 2 sisters Annie 2/9/1876 and Lily Maud,who I believe married William Gorton in 1908 also in Stockton on Tees.
Her parents were Elizabeth Rayner abt 1846 and James I'Anson abt 1812 also born in Stockton.They are my x2 gt grandparents.
The siblings for my James (x2) are:
Jane - 19 May 1815, John -3/8/1816-5/1/1818,John 2/8/1818-1870.John married Mary Lamb in Stockton on Tees on 20 Oct 1842 and lastly there was Isaac I'anson born in April in 1820.Isaac married Elizabeth Thornton France in Stockton on Tees in 1846.
It is believed that my James I'Anson abt 1812 had a preious marriage before Elizabeth Rayner. It is believed that his first wife was called Mary Stephenson.
The furthest that I have got on with this family is my x3 gt grandparents James I;Anson abt 1788 and his wife Ann Longstafff. They were married in Bishopmiddleham,Sedgefield Co Durham in 1810.
It states in the 1861 census that my x3 grandfather James came from Lincoln,Lincolnshire.
I am finding it hard to get any futher than James and Ann. I do not know if he had siblings or if he was an only child.
If any of this rings a bell, I would love toi hear from you.
