My father-in-law, Paul John Iaria, was born in Scala Coeli on 1/24/1903. He came over on the boat and settled in PA. He met and married Rose Cecelia Calabrese born 10/3/1905). Rose’s parents came over on the boat from Calabria. Paul and Rose Iaria had four children: Paul John Iaria, Jr., Michael Mauro (Mick) Iaria, Nicholas Anthony Iaria and Joanna Rosemary Iaria. Paul, Jr. married Barbara Chicchelly and they had two children: Pollyanna Iaria and Joseph Michael Iaria. Mick Iaria married Charlotte Ashley and had one son: Michael Paul Iaria. Nicholas Iaria married Marlene Chiodo and had four children: Kathleen, Christine, Jennifer and Nicholas, Jr. No children were born to Dick and Joanna (Iaria) Schmeling.
Paul John Iaria, Sr. and Rose Cecelia (Calabrese) Iaria are both deceased now.
This is very interesting because I’ve been looking into their linage.
There’s also a Michael Paul Iaria (the exact same name of my son) who is a high profile attorney in Seattle, WA. He moved there from New Jersey.
