Jacob Ibach/Ybach

In 1752 (I think that year is correct) the ship Brothers landed in Philadelphia. One of the passenger lists I saw listed a Jacob Ybach and a Jacob Ibach. Supposedly Jacob Ybach went to Maryland and eventually became the Ebaugh Family. While Jacob Ibach was supposed to go up into PA. My ancestor David Efaw (one document lists it as Epaugh) who joined the Revolutionary Army in 1783 said he was born in PA, he was 18 years old. Which puts his date of birth as 1765. Now I do not believe Efaw is the old spelling of our name. Some think we are descendant from Ybach and some think from Ibach. Also I have no idea what country we came from.
It has always seem odd to me that David was the only Efaw found at that time. No siblings or parents. Would appreciate any information that anyone might have that might tie us into some family in the middle to early 1700's.
