Ibach is definately German in origin. There are other German variations including Ebach, and Ybach to name a few. I would suspect that your surname of Iball is either a phonetic pronunciation of a Welsh name or a shortened version of a Welsh (or other nationality) name. It could even be German, particularly with the "I" being a German diminutive (small, little). I don't think it's related to the Ibach surname however.
