I am researching Nancy Slack nee Ibbotson who was the 3xg grandmother of my wife Janice Bird, nee Slack. Nancy who was also known as Anne Ibbotson was born on 8 Jan 1789. She married Robert Slack of Hayfield, DBY on 5 Jun 1806.
When visiting Chinley Registry Office in 1993 I discovered that Nancy died at Hayfield, as the result of Breast Cancer, on 22 Aug 1860. She is buried within the Church of St Matthews, Hayfield, where there is a stained glass Window as a memorial to Robert & Nancy Slack.
We suspect from a list supplied by Graham Hadfield that the parents of Nancy cound be John & Susan Ibbotson, Susan nee Bradwall. Other siblings listed were: Samuel, John, Mary & Sarah.
This family were from Hathersage, DBY.
Is there anyone else researching this family who could confirm these facts.
