Does anyone have any connection with the Ibbotsons who were in Swaledale from the 1600 to 1800s? I have traced my direct ancestors back to Rebecca Ibbotson bap. Kettlewell 1795; daughter of Joseph Ibbotson married to Nancy (later Ann)Hawking in Kettlewell c 1790; Joseph bap Asrigg c 1760 son of John Ibbotson. Joseph was a lead miner and the family lived in Hurst near Marrick from the late 1790's upto the 1860's. William Ibbotson was born in 1823 and left Marrick in 186o's to work on the railways in Darlington.
There were a lot of Ibbotsons in the Kettlewell/ Grassington area. Does anyone know of any connection to the Ibbotsons of Sheffield?
