Some of my Ibbotsons appear to have come from the Knaresbrough area.
I have traced my Ibbotson/Ibitsons back to George Ibbitson who on the 1841 census appears to be about 50 (entry blurred)which makes him born c1791. The IGI only shows a George Ibbotson born 1798 at Goldsbrough by Knaresbrough - father Robert. The IGI shows the marriage of Robert + Jane Sweeting. As George was dead before the 1851 census I cannot tell exactly where in Yorkshire he was born - so any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!
Details of George's decendents can be found at -

Hope to find some link.
Janet
