I am looking for record of my Grandfather's birth in "Sheffield" in 1867."
The 1881 census has Bradfield entries which seem to match: ie. a son William born in 1867; and a sister Sarah; which matchs
family info.
There use to be so much activity on this forum... in particular a Phillip Ibbotson; he seems no longer active on the net.
Anyone know a current emal address?
My Grandfather, William emmigrated to the US c.1884. He married at Buffalo NY in 1896. His sister Sarah also emigrated;
eventually winding up in Los Angeles, California. She frequently traveled back to England (Sheffield?) to visit relatives in the 20th Century. There is also some hazy family information about a possible sister Martha who never left England which would not match the 1881 Bradfield family.. If any of you English Ibbotsons recall a Sarah who use to return from theUSA once in a while, I'd like to know of the connection.
I've not yet located Immigration information on either person; thank goodness there are still trails to consider.
Anybody happen to know why the Ibbotson forum on GENUKI has had so few entries after 9/2003?
