Mrs. Engledow, I have much to explain! You must think I am over 100 years old by my previous response (I'm only 38 but feel 100 often). When you said W.S. Ikard, I thought you meant Winfield S. However, I now realize that you meant William S. As far as I can tell, Milton and Seaborn Ikard were brothers in the Tennessee/Missouri area in the early 1800's. They both eventually moved to Texas and had large families. William S. was a son of Milton's. Seaborn had a son named Andrew Jackson Ikard (my namesake), who had a son named Winfield S. Winfield was my great uncle. Please contact me at combs@access1.net and I will send you an article by another cousin. It is a wonderful account of the Ikard's frontier life in Texas and specifically mentions Buck Engledow as a Range Boss on a ranch at V Bar Springs near Mankins. Any other Ikard wishing this article is very welcome. I only ask that any new or additional information is sent back to keep the history alive.
