In January, 1920, when the census was taken, a Jennie Crippen, age 50, widow, b. Ohio, was a patient at Chicago State Hospital for the Insane, in Norwood Park Township. The hospital was located at 64th Avenue and Irving Park Boulevard. If she died at the hospital, it is possible there was no obituary, though a death notice may have been filed or published. You can send for her death certificate online very inexpensively from chicagogenealogy.com.
